EVENT:
Social Media & Employment Issues (Session Code: 476)
Facebook. Twitter. MySpace. Skype. Texting. What are they? What do they do? Who uses them? How are they used? Social media is more than just an avenue for employees to communicate what they do or to reach out to friends. Instead, social networking has become a place for employees to vent about their coworkers. As an employer, what can you do? Can you discipline for comments made on Facebook about a supervisor or your products? What about inappropriate texts or pictures? Bullying? The purpose of this seminar is to alert credit unions to what they can and cannot do when making hiring and employment decisions based upon information contained in social media. We will provide you with a social media policy and the dos and don’ts of implementing a social media policy.
