Dealing with Employee Leave of Absenses, Medical or Otherwise (Session Code: 622)
An employee calls on Monday. She is using a sick day. She calls in for two more days. She doesn’t have any unused time. She says she will bring a doctor’s note. Is this time off excused? Does this time qualify for FMLA? The doctor’s note says she was off due to an injury at work. Now what do you do? Employee absences can be difficult to administer and classify. Employee time off may impact department morale. This program will address how to treat employee time off, address excessive absences and the employees who may abuse time off policies. Participants will receive sample policies, forms and disciplinary documents which address excessive time off. Employee absences do not need to be complicated.
